Rare 1936 Fiesta Ivory Flat Bottom Onion Soup Bowl & Lid Very Good Used Cond.
SOLD $1,600.00 Sold: Apr 9, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
This is a very rate onion soup bowl with lid in the original configuration in the Ivory color in the Fiesta pattern made by Homer Laughlin, West Virginia 1936. The soup bowl was the introduced as part of the original lineup of pieces released in early 1936 with hand applied handles and foot. The piece is distinguished by the flat bottom and the marking (which was part of the mold). The onion soup design was labor intensive to produce and was redesigned later in 1936 to make the foot as part of the bowl and removal of the flat bottom as well as the bottom marking. The onion soup bowl was the 2nd item discontinued from the line in 1937 (the Mixing bowl lid was the first.) The piece is in very good to excellent used condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs that I can find. I do not see any signs of use or marks on the inside. The lid has some discoloration as shown in the dry edge as shown in the photos. There is a bisque air pop on the bowl foot as shown in the photos. The piece is well marked. The bowl and lid about 4 1/2 inch tall when assembled, about 2 7/8th inches tall to the rim, about 4 1/2 inches across the rim, about 6 inches across with the handles included, and about 2 1/2 inches across the foot. I took a lot of photos to show all the details and are part of the description. I'm in the process of downsizing my very large Fiesta collection that I have acquired over the past 30 year to only one example of each piece. I have multiples of mixing bowls with lids (1-4 only), cake plates, covered dishes, water pitcher, onions soup bowls and more. Please review the photos, they are part of the description. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thank you for looking and check out my other items! I package all items in recycled peanuts and bubble wrap. All items are well protected. I will be responsible to file all breakage claims and paperwork. The buyer will provide the receipt photos of the damage, box, and shipping label on notification of breakage. Save all items (Including packing material, box, and items broken and unbroken) you may be required to present them during the filing the claim with the post office. I will notify you when the process is complete so that you can dispose of the unwanted items and packing material. Please do not pay until I have invoiced you (unless the item is free shipping). The shipping calculator makes mistakes that will overcharge you sometimes. International customers: I use the eBay international shipping option. I can't adjust the shipping from what you see on your end. The entire process is controlled by eBay (except my sending the piece the the shipping facility). The buyer will need to contact eBay with any concerns with the item or shipping. Satisfaction is number 1. If there is a problem please contact me to work it out. As you can tell by my feedback I do not misrepresent items intentionally. However, I am human and do make mistakes. I will make good on my errors. Payment is expected in 7 days after auction ends, unless other arrangements have been made. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
